Michael
Halliday is a Professor in Management at Macquarie Graduate School of
Management in Sydney Australia. Prior to joining MGSM, Professor
Halliday was Head of the School of Marketing at the University of
Technology, Sydney and before academic life worked in Marketing with
Cadbury-Schweppes in the United Kingdom. He has an undergraduate
degree in Agricultural Economics, a Masters degree in marketing from
the U.K. and a Doctorate (PhD) in marketing.
Ø Michael
has published widely in academic journals as well as running a
successful strategic management consulting and training practice. He
is the co-author of three books published in 1997, Marketing and
Finance Working
the Interface, The Australian Business Start-up guide, and The
Australian Market Planning Guide. The second addition of each was
published in 2002.

Consultancy
assignments and marketing training have been undertaken for a wide
range of leading Australian and international organisations including
Telstra; Dow Chemical Pacific; Merck, Sharpe & Dohme (Australia
and New Zealand); The Boots Company (Australia, Thailand &
Malaysia); American Express; Citibank (Singapore) and Aventis (China
& Taiwan) to name a few.

Michael
has been a visiting professor at The University of Texas at Austin and
Oregon State University. His current research is in the areas of
managing for value, brand positioning, strategic planning and
marketing strategy based on market analysis.
